This book tells the story of the author's life as she has contended with mental illnesses. She traces the trajectory of her life from childhood through the building of her career as a Cognitive neuroscientist and Philosopher-Theologian (earning two Ph.D.'s) up to today. The text is written in the first person, providing the reader a glimpse of what it is like to suffer from generalized anxiety, anorexia nervosa, body dysmorphic disorder, bipolar disorder, and obsessive disorder. In addition, the author provides objective information on the nature of these illnesses; for example, what the symptoms are, what the criteria for diagnosis are, and whether or not there is a genetic basis for the illnesses. Included is original artwork by the author reflecting how she has felt having these mental illnesses.
