Going Forward

Rick is a Vietnam Veteran who is about ready to be discharged from the Army. He has ahead of him a long-awaited taste of freedom, something that has been absent in his life for the past three years. Mary is a small-town girl born and raised in Lake City, Florida. She has just finished two years at the local community college and is ready to escape to the big city to finish her degree. Their life plans have been put on hold when they meet and fall in love. The struggle that arises is that neither one of them are willing to give up their dreams. They then embark on a wild love affair and a series of summer adventures to mask the eventual parting. “Going Forward” is a story based on real people and actual events. The main setting takes place in Central Florida along the Icetucknee River in the early 1970s. Romance/adventure stories are typically written from the perspective and for the audience of women. “Going Forward” is written from a man’s perspective, so both men and women will be able to enjoy the romance and appreciate the adventures.
