Love Your Neighbor: A Daily Devotional - 9178

Jesus drilled down the entire Bible to two things: loving God and loving your neighbor. And yet, loving our neighbor can sometimes feel daunting. Since we learn through later teaching that literally every person we encounter is considered our neighbor, how do we put that commandment into practice? Apartment Life was created in 2000 to do just that - to empower Apartment Life Coordinators to love their neighbors living in apartment communities. Since then, more than three million apartment residents have been served by an Apartment Life Coordinator across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, which has given us a lot of practice living out Matthew 22 practically in many different contexts. We realize that not everybody is in position to commit a year or two of their lives to moving to an apartment community and serving residents there. And so, we also want to train and empower people to love their neighbors wherever they encounter them - whether that’s in a traditional neighborhood, at the office, on the soccer field, or at a restaurant. We want to share practical tips we’ve learned through decades of practice. Whether you’re an introvert or the life of the party - we are confident that you can follow Jesus’ calling to love your neighbors well. Three of us came together to write this book, representing different phases of life that we hope will weave in something for everyone.
