This book is an effort by Jason Schroeder and the entire LeanTakt team to combine decades of industry experience into a book that is mostly visual. We have only added words where we felt it was absolutely necessary. Countless hours have gone into creating graphics and attempting to explain difficult concepts with simple explanations and visuals. It is our hope that this book will enable the industry to see the Takt Production System® for what it is--the central theme of all lean thinking in construction. This first book is our first pass at delivering a work that can show the Takt system in a macro perspective. We hope that practitioners, software developers, users, owners, contractors, and trade partners will be able to rally around this system which is designed to bring respect back to construction, stability to sites, and flow to our work.
