The Moon Below is the sweeping saga of Hallie Morgan, who, in the early 1800s, sailed to Australia, halfway around the world from her native England, not knowing where she was going, to join a man she had seen only twice, when she was a child. But the author has given these attributes to Hallie, who has a far different personality than either of the two historical women on which Bickmore bases this sprawling novel.
