Jan wrote a booklet entitled Poetry Basically, at the suggestion of her son, Dr. Heath Hetherly, Chief Psychologist for the Veteran’s Hospital in Daytona, Florida. These booklets are to be used to aid soldiers and veterans in journalling moments of war to clear the mind and soul. In 2006, Jan was awarded a Poet Fellow by Noble House, London, England, and was advised not to take it lightly!
